Professor George Crooks is currently the Medical Director for NHS 24 and Director of the Scottish Centre for Telehealth & Telecare. NHS 24 is the national provider of telehealth services for the whole of Scotland currently providing the majority of its services via telephony, the web and digital television.
George was elected President of the European Health Telematics Association in February 2012 and is a Board member of the European Connected Health Alliance.
He is Chair of the Scottish Digital Health and Care Innovation Programme Board, leading on the at scale delivery of telehealth and telecare services and also the Chairman of the Digital Health Institute in Scotland.

Justene joined the Digital Health Institute (DHI) in April 2013 as the Chief Executive Officer and is charged with establishing and delivering the DHI objectives. The DHI is one of a family of innovation centres in Scotland funded by the SFC and aims to utilise Scottish universities infrastructures, human resources and research excellence capability to create an exciting platform for collaborations across Scotland.
Since joining DHI Justene has created the momentum and established the DHI as employee number one. Implementing the plan, creating the frameworks and leading on governance, collaborations and commercial principles, as well as recruiting a fantastic multi-disciplined and enthusiastic team.
Prior to joining DHI, Justene was the Managing Director of her own company Charlotte Consulting focussed on the public sector and previously worked for some of the biggest names in the business process outsourcing environment, including Scottish BPO firms RESPONSE, beCogent and Telecom Service Centres as well as international firms ClientLogic and Cap Gemini.

A respected creative leader within the UK digital media sector Andrew currently works with Creative England, The Technology Strategy Board and TRC Media as a board and advisory board member.
He served as member of the Ministerial Steering Board on behalf of the DCMS/BIS for The Digital Britain Report and was Visiting Professor of Digital Media at University College Falmouth, having previously taught on the Masters programmes at INA (Paris) and the RCA (London).
His main business focus is as founder of Digital Life Sciences launched in 2013 which aims to be the UK’s first truly online health company, bringing bring the technology and creativity of the digital sector to meet the needs of healthcare providers and their patients. The DLS team are passionate about restructuring the relationship between healthcare provider and citizen, empowering the latter and delivering efficiencies, insight and redesigned services for the former.

Bill Thompson has been working in, on and around the Internet since 1984 and spends his time thinking, writing and speaking about the ways digital technologies are changing our world. building relationships with museums, galleries and other institutions around ways to make archive material more accessible, and a Visiting Professor at the Royal College of Art.
Bill appears weekly on Click on BBC World Service radio, writes a monthly column for Focus magazine and is an advisor to a range of arts and cultural organisations on their digital strategies. He is a member of the board of Writers' Centre Norwich and of the Collections Trust, and was for many years a Trustee of the Cambridge Film Trust. He built and manages the Working for an MP website.
During the 1990's Bill was Internet Ambassador for PIPEX, the UK's first commercial ISP where he developed websites for Comic Relief, the Edinburgh Fringe and Anne Campbell MP, before moving to Guardian Newspapers as head of new media. He established the paper's first website in 1994 and was responsible for many online projects including Eurosoccer.com in 1996.

Chris Sizemore is Executive Editor of the BBC's Knowledge & Learning product. BBC iWonder, the product's flagship, has recently launched. Chris's background is in content strategy at (AOL) Time Warner in the States, and he has been with the BBC now for 8 years. Chris has contributed as a content strategist to the BBC's iPlayer and programme support projects, and was the Executive Producer of the BBC's Food website.

Ian has been at the forefront of digital media innovation at the BBC since joining the organisation in 1999. An early pioneer of BBC Online, he has played key roles in developing and delivering high profile services across all platforms including the launch of the BBC iPlayer TV and Radio catch up services.
In his current position as Head of Product for Knowledge & Learning he is responsible for managing the complete portfolio of factual and educational websites which includes Bitesize, Food and the recently launched iWonder. His mission is to unlock the learning potential of all BBC content.
Dr Peter Mowforth
Peter is Joint founder and CEO of Glasgow-based INDEZ Ltd (since 1995).
The company has a 100% focus on ecommerce and supports over 30, mostly Scottish SMEs, that trade online in over 80 countries. Average client sales growth during 2013 was over 64%. INDEZ implements ecommerce web design, global hosting and ecommerce marketing automation.
INDEZ co-launched eTradeTester with the Chamber of Commerce to help start-up businesses clarify and refine the ecommerce proposition prior to implementation in order to maximise their potential for growth, export and profit.

Carol is a customer experience strategy and implementation expert, with specialist focus on the financial services sector. Prior to joining Nunwood, Carol spent 12 years at Standard Life in a variety of marketing, insight and strategy leadership roles.
Now working an advisory capacity for a number of ambitious financial brands, Carol's interests remain focused on the meeting point of customer insight, experience strategy and operational execution. Putting in place the right enablers, such as customer closeness voice of the customer programmes, then joining these to management process remains a special interest. As a director of Nunwood's Customer Experience Excellence Centre, Carol focuses a portion of her time on identifying global best practice and applying it to UK clients.

Sarah is the co-founder and director of design at Snook. Sarah focuses on making social change happen by re-thinking public services from a human perspective. With a Masters of Design Innovation from Glasgow School of Art, Sarah is a social entrepreneur, unashamedly proving the value of design on the inside and outside of government and defining a meaningful role for designers within the public sector. Her work challenges the role design can play within the public sector, and as the winner of the first Scottish Social Innovation Camp, Sarah is ambitiously challenging the way governments operate and make policies through initiatives such as MyPolice.
As a fellow of Google, Sarah has a flair for using technology as an enabler and thrives leading processes of change, putting design at the heart of organisations and complex systems.
Prior to being the Director of Snook, Sarah won £20,000 for a community in Glasgow by giving local people the tools and confidence to build their own social enterprise. She also spent a year working inside Skills Development Scotland alongside their Service Design and Innovation Directorate research how design could be embedded within the organisation.
Sarah’s service design expertise and public sector innovation knowledge has recently taken her to keynote in Taiwan, Australia and America and given her the opportunity to work for Edinburgh Council, Open Glasgow and Future Cities, Stirling Council, NHS24, Scottish Government, Skills Development Scotland, NHS Education Scotland, British Council, Architecture and Design Scotland, STV.
Colin Miles is Chief Technology Officer for Pirean.
Colin has over 20 years of IT solution delivery experience having progressed a career from software engineer through to architectural and management leadership roles for customers across a wide range of industry sectors including Financial Services. For the past 10 years Colin has had a specific focus on meeting the technical and business challenges for the implementation of Identity and Access Management solutions. Having joined Pirean in 2008, Colin is responsible for the portfolio of new and existing products and services delivered by Pirean’s consulting business.
Justin is the Strategy Director at Realise, a full service digital agency that is now part of the St.Ives Group.
He is an experienced creative Digital Strategist working in the digital domain for the last 15 years. He successfully bridges the gap between creative, technology and c-level business stakeholders. He has worked with many FTSE 100 clients defining and delivering best in class digital transformation strategies, digital brand and transmedia campaign strategy. Recent clients include BBC, Bupa, Visa, TfL, Vodafone, PlayStation, First Group, AXA, and BAE Systems.

Mickael Paris is Digital Manager at long term savings and investment specialists Standard Life. He is passionate about online marketing and has built up a bank of experience through both start-ups and larger corporates. As a data driven marketeer, he started his career with Maxymiser, one of the leading providers of multivariate testing. He went on to join Skyscanner, the flight comparison site, where his focus was on taking it to market in France. And he is now helping to transform FTSE 100 company Standard Life into an online market leader. Originally from sunny France, Mickael has been living in Scotland for eight years. Outside of work, Mickael is a keen golfer (even in the rain) and a real ambassador of French cuisine.
Philip leads Nile’s experience and service design practice and is a founder and co-chair of Service Design Network in the UK. He’s been consulting for over 12 years and has lead teams at several leading agencies, where he’s worked on insight, brand and service design challenges for a wide range of blue chip global clients. He studied cognitive science and uses an understanding of people to help organisations develop an intelligent approach to digital service delivery.
Grainne is an educational consultant. She is currently working with Mozilla and the Badge Alliance on the Discovery Project, which is developing tools and resources to enable Open Badge based pathways to employment. She also works with Jisc to enhance digital assessment practices in further and higher education in Scotland. As founder and Chair of the Open Badges in Scottish Education Group (OBSEG), Grainne has been supporting a range of stakeholders in Scotland engage with the opportunities provided by Open Badges and contributed to the development of thinking around digital credentialing internationally.

Cally Russell is an entrepreneur and CEO of start-up Mallzee, a personal shopping app business based in Edinburgh. In their first year Mallzee has raised in excess of £0.5m and been named as one of the six apps to change the way the world shops by Yahoo. The team at Mallzee have focused on creating combing social and recommendation based shopping in one simple to use iOS app.

Over the last twelve years, Fred has worked as a senior business development executive with UK Trade & Investment the UK Governments International Trade organisation, initially a an Export Promoter and then as a Specialist Market Advisor focused on the North American Market, and now currently is the UKTI Retail Sector Specialist in the Strategic Trade Group in London
During this time for some eight years Fred was Chairman of the UKTI North American Scholarship Board (Kellogg Graduate School in Chicago and the Richard Ivey Business School in Toronto) overseeing the selection of hundreds of senior business executives for the programme?

E-commerce has been the focus of his working day since the 80’s, starting in the world of automated retail banking, ie Cash Machines. Bringing third party retail internet transactions to the world of banking saw his previous business acquired in 2000.
Now his day is all about generating sales for retailers on the world’s global marketplaces and ensuring that they have as many ways to be competitive and win sales on them as possible.
Richard Unwin is the managing director of Backbone IT Group, a full service digital agency with a particular specialism in China. Founded in 1999 and establishing its Nanjing offices in early 2004, the company has gained significant experience in the Chinese market and witnessed first-hand the explosive growth of China’s online landscape. Backbone IT Group has expertise in the provision of Chinese market entry, digital marketing and web development services across a broad cross-section of business sectors including retail.

John has a long career history as Chairman, CEO and Director within the Retail Distance Selling Industry including major Enterprises such as the United Kingdom’s Royal Mail, Great Universal Stores plc (incorporating Burberrys, Experian, Yodel Home Delivery and the UK’s leading catalogue and online operation, now Shop Direct) along with advisory roles with the UK Government and the European Commission.
John is also an experienced International Speaker on Innovation within the Global Retailing and Global eCommerce Sectors and has won several Awards relating to developments and Innovation within these sectors.
John is also Founder, Chairman and CEO of Retail World, a global online shopping company.
Gavin is a serial entrepreneur and is the Founder and CEO of Money Dashboard, which allows consumers in the UK to freely see all of their current, savings and credit card accounts in a single view and organise budgets. Prior to this he was a pioneer of the software as a service business model with Instant Group. He is heavily involved in the promotion of consumer rights and empowerment through data as well as initiatives to improve financial literacy through technology. He is based in Edinburgh.

Debbie joined CDI Apps for Good in March 2011 as head of partnerships, bringing 20 years of UK educational experience to the programme. An ex-headteacher, Debbie came to Apps for Good from e-skills UK where she was head of their education programmes, working with schools, government and employers to help inspire more young people to consider careers in IT. Debbie has a passion for education and giving young people of every background the best life chances and she sees technology as key to achieving this. US born, 20 years in the UK has left Debbie with an accent that is foreign to all, but if you ask nicely, she might teach you how to "talk southern ya'll."

Catriona is the Scotland Programme Lead for the BBC’s Digital Innovation Initiative, BBC Connected Studio. This is a rapid development process designed to solve a wide variety of innovation challenges for the BBC.
She has been with the BBC for 9 years, and has held a number of roles including Production Executive for BBC Scotland Online.
Catriona is passionate about the exciting and unexpected collaborations that are delivered by the Connected Studio programme. She very much looks forward to continuing to work with the wider digital sector in order to deliver digital creativity to BBC audiences.
Alex has over ten years of experience in digital health and care. This includes working with health professionals, clinicians and senior stakeholders to: analyse business issues and requirements; develop business cases and operating models for new services; manage the procurement and implementation of new systems and services; and manage healthcare transformation and reform programmes. Alex also leads PA's work in health and social care in Scotland.

Kevin is responsible for PA’s Digital Banking & Digital Insurance proposition. His area of specialism is Digital Transformation and he has led a variety of multi-year programmes for a mix of large and small organisations.

Since joining Microsoft in 2005, Dave Coplin has worked across a wide range of industries and customers, providing strategic advice and guidance around the impact of technology on a modern society both at work and in play. Dave is currently working as the Chief Envisioning Officer for Microsoft UK, helping organisations and individuals envision the full potential that technology offers a modern, digital society and has recently authored “Business Reimagined” a book about the future of work - a new working environment based on collaborative and flexible working and on technology that used correctly, liberates rather than constrains.

Irene McAra-McWilliam is Head of the School of Design and Director of Design Innovation at the Glasgow School of Art. Before returning to Scotland, she was Professor and Business Fellow in Innovation at The Royal College of Art in London and Head of the Interaction Design Department there. Previously, she was Director of Design Research at Philips Electronics in the Netherlands and was responsible for the vision and direction of Philips' global Design Research portfolio. As Professor of Design Research at the University of Technology in Eindhoven she envisaged ways in which technology can enhance community and social sustainability. Professor McAra-McWilliam is a frequent speaker at international conferences and is a consultant to industry and government.

Tony Ageh has held various roles at the BBC since 2002. As Controller, Internet he was
responsible for the creation and delivery of the BBC iPlayer. He is currently Controller, Archive
Development, delivering the BBC’s strategy for making the programme archive more available
and developing the Digital Public Space.
His early career was in print publishing. He joined Guardian Newspapers in 1990.
At The Guardian he devised their weekly entertainment magazine The Guide, and lead the
Guardian’s move online, making it the first UK paper with an internet presence.

Tom Loosemore is a founder of the Government Digital Service (GDS), and is now its deputy director.
GDS was established in 2011 to ensure the UK government offers world-class digital products that meet people’s needs.
Since 2012 GOV.UK has replaced hundreds of websites, winning Design of the Year and saving £50m in the process. GDS is is now midway through the digital transformation of government transactions, working with departments to tackle 25 of the most significant.
Prior to GDS, Tom ran the digital innovation arm of Channel 4. He was responsible for the BBC's internet strategy between 2001 and 2007, after launching its first sport websites.
Tom’s passion for using the internet for public good started earlier. He was trustee of e-democracy charity mySociety and built many of its early projects, including TheyWorkForYou.com.

Jeff Moriarty is Chief Digital and Product Officer at Johnston Press and
has had a broad career across local and metropolitan newspapers and digital
media. Before moving to the UK this year, he was Vice President of Digital
Products at The Boston Globe and has held other digital leadership roles
across The New York Times Company.
He launched the earliest regional Web sites in The New York Times Company,
later building niche products Winetoday.com around Northern California
wines, and later Golfdigest.com, for the sport's top magazine. Upon the
Times' sale of Golf Digest in 2000 he moved to New York Times Digital,
building an industry-leading Manhattan real estate site and verticals in
autos and jobs. Leaving New York for Boston in 2004, he headed product
development and technology at Boston.com before returning to the Times'
regional group as head of new media and building it's digital businesses
across 14 newspaper markets. Returning to New York in 2009, he joined the
Times' digital pure-play, About.com, and brought that site new mobile,
video and advertising offerings. Returning to Boston in 2010, he led the
effort to launch BostonGlobe.com, a new subscription site that was the
first publication in the world to embrace Responsive Web Design, receiving
accolades for its multi-platform approach to technology and interface
design, at the same time redeveloping Boston.com as an ad-supported
platform serving the people in and around Boston

Roger has spent 7 years in Google Enterprise building the business as second UK Enterprise employee. Roger now leads Enterprise Search in the UK and the team focused on Apps, Chrome and Cloud Platform for clients up to 6000 employees.
He signed the first Google Apps projects anywhere in the world and was responsible for moving the majority of the UK media sector onto Google Apps.
Previously he worked at IBM Software and is a graduate of university of Nottingham. His wife recently opened a free school where he advises on IT strategy.

Wick High School Computing Science department won two out of the five national categories in the UK Apps for Good competition. Those teams went on to develop and market their winning apps (Dog Log and Cattle Manager) on Google Play.
Meghan and Caitlin are this year’s cohort of Apps for Good students and are looking to take the competition by storm with their Chore Attack app!
Chris Aitken is a Computing Science teacher. He won the Apps for Good Teacher of the Year award in 2013 and was also awarded the TalkTalk Digital Hero for Scotland award.
